If you can see this, then you might need a Flash Player upgrade or you need to install Flash Player if it's missing. Someone already made a video of Launchpad: Perfect for DJing, performing live or working in the studio. More information about Novations Launchpad can be found here Launchpad is a dedicated controller for Ableton Live, co-developed by Novation and Ableton. I am glad i didn’t purchase an APC40 or a monome. so for the price of one used monome 64 i can get two or three brand new three launchpads! One of the big pluses of Launch pad is that up to 6 controllers can be used simultaneously in Ableton to control multiple aspects of the software. Sure, Launchpad is no competition to the monome, but it is a matter of time before the unit’s handshaking is hacked and Launchpad is able to run monome apps, just like the APC40. I suspect everyone and their mother is going to have a Launchpad. Launchpad sure looks sexy, but i wonder if it has the same functionality as the APC40, but i don’t think this will matter since the unit will retail for under $200 brand new. With a Launchkey (25-, 49-, or 61-key versions) connected to the Launckey App, you can use the hardware keys to play notes, and use the hardware knobs to control. Unlike the Akai APC40, Novation’s Launchpad doesn’t have any sliders or knobs to complement the 8×8 button grid. Both the Novation Launchpad S and Launchkey MIDI controllers are designed to be full-fledged MIDI controllers, as well as to work seamlessly with the Launchkey App and Launchpad App. It is called Launchpad, and it is looks even more like the monome 64 than the infamous A kai APC40. Why? because another Monome 64 clone controller for Ableton has been launched, this time coming from Novation. The creators of the monome were onto something big when they created their groundbreaking hardware controller. Original ideas are hard, very hard to come by. Categories: Ableton, Hardware | 5 comments
